Week 4( Sept 27th-Oct1st) Free Week

Well one of the advantages to homeschooling is when you finish curriculum a week early, you have a week to do whatever you want. Well Brett has had some trouble writing his numbers. I really hadn't ever put an emphasis on it, but that was not the best thing. He had the knowledge up in the brain but couldn't quite put it on paper. So we dedicated week 4 to writing numbers. He did really well and now he can get the answers to paper and is quite amazing. Well we started with just numbers 1-10. But he said mommy I want to write to 100. So he got to do that on his chalk board.

Our 3rd Week (Sept 20th-Sept 24th)

Well we are still pluggin along. We have decided that our Mondays are not going to be school days, we need a day to wind down:) And for Mommy its her chore day

Wed the 22nd was The Back To School Picnic, School Pictures, New Parent Orientation. It was a great time. I got to talk to alot of Moms and Brett got to run around and play at the Park that it was at.

Thurs Sept 23rd we had our monthly Meeting with his teacher Mrs. D. This was a very good meeting and assessment of where Brett was academically. I had felt that the material we were going through in Math and reading was really easy for him and wasn't challenging enough. Well together we decided that he needed to move on, at first we talked about moving him up to 1st grade math and reading. I was a little hesitant, not wanting to miss anything he may not have known. So instead we decided to fast forward to the 2nd semester of the Kindergarten year. If this is still too easy we will start him with 1st grade reading and math. Just want to make sure we don't miss anything.

Friday Sept 24th. We had a playdate with Jerimiah and Bekah Clark. This will be a monthly date. This month we decided to meet at Eisenhower Park in Orange. The kids had a blast. Here are a few pics of our time.

Playing on the Playground

Ready for Lunch

This was pretty special because Brett and Conner's daddy used to play in these streams as a little boy

It was hard to miss this photo opp, this was a beautiful tree.

We even had some time to fit in a science lesson. We are learning about animals, so we talked about the ducks.

Day 3 September 9th 2010
Well today was a more difficult day for me, we have decided to sell our house. Alot of emotions are going through my mind. I did not expect this in my first week of homeschooloing, but unfortunatly I must go on teaching. We took a walk today before school with some friends, Brett was still in his jammies so he called for a pajama day at school. Why not? :)

We made a triangle on the ground as part of one of the lessons. Inside, Outside

Second Day 09-08-10

Well here we are the second day of homeschooling.... I am thankful that the 1st day went well. Today Brett wanted to wear his new school outfit from Nana again, so I let him. He knows so much ,its pretty easy for him so far.
